In July 1989, four years after Ju Percussion Group was found, the Ju Percussion Group Foundation (The Foundation) was established to be in charge of the administration of the Group. The mission of the Foundation is to make music universal and readily accessible to the public and to enhance the percussive arts in performance, composition and research in Taiwan In the past 18 years, the Foundation has arranged international concert tours for the Group and invited internationally well-known performing arts groups to Taiwan. Furthermore, the annually children’s concert tours have obtained its reputation and wide popularity in music education. Since 1993, the Foundation presented the Taipei International Percussion Convention (TIPC), featuring percussionists and ensembles from France, Sweden, Japan, Korea, Hungary, Holland, U.S.A., Australia, Canada, Germany, and the Ju Percussion Group, Taipei Percussion and local traditional percussion troupes. The successful events marked another milestone for percussion music in the country, and the Foundation is well poised to present the fifth TIPC in 2005. Currently, the Foundation includes a Board of Directors, headed by Chairperson Mr. Hsin-Ho Lin. The administration is lead by General Director Shu-Kang Liu and operated by five divisions, including programming, marketing, operations, secretarial affairs, and finance.
